A Summer Writing Practice: June 22 through July 13, 2026
If you’ve been struggling to find momentum, consistency, or space for writing this summer, this program offers structure, support, and community without pressure or burnout.
Summer often arrives with the best of intentions: a writing project you’ve been putting off, a manuscript mid-draft, a story you’ve been meaning to start. It can also arrive with fatigue, distraction, and the need for rest. This program is designed to hold space for all of it.
Write with Care is a three-week summer practice for any writer — academic, creative, essayist, or somewhere in between — who wants to make progress on their writing while also learning to care for themselves in the process. Showing up to the page matters, and so does taking care of the person doing the showing up.
Drawing on more than two decades of supporting writers in academic and community settings, this program blends reflection, accountability, and sustainable writing practice.
Over three weeks, you’ll receive four curated emails and have access to four optional online writing sessions, a gentle, structured container for your summer writing life.
This program may be a good fit if you:
- want support returning to a writing practice
- are carrying a draft, idea, or unfinished project into the summer
- crave accountability without harsh productivity culture
- feel creatively exhausted or disconnected
- write best when you have structure and community
What You’ll Receive
Each Monday, June 22 through July 13, an email lands in your inbox with a short reflection on our weekly theme, writing prompts for both process and content, and resources handpicked to support your work and your wellbeing as a writer. The prompts are yours to work through whenever suits you best, and all resources are yours to keep.
You’ll also have access to four optional online writing sessions where you can drop in, set intentions, and write in community. No sharing of work required, and no pressure to attend every session.
In addition, you’ll receive one 45-minute individual writing consultation with me. This session is an opportunity to talk through your project, explore challenges you’re encountering, receive feedback and guidance, and identify next steps for your writing. Whether you’re returning to a draft, beginning something new, or trying to sustain a writing practice, the conversation will be tailored to your goals and needs.
Weekly Themes
Week 1: Arriving We begin by slowing down. Whether you’re coming in with intentions already formed or starting from scratch, you’ll take stock of where you are and begin to imagine what’s possible in the weeks ahead.
Week 2: Tending to Obstacles Every writer has them. The internal resistance, the external demands, the places where we get stuck. This week we name what’s in the way and begin building a strategy for moving through it.
Week 3: Writing with Care This week turns toward you, the writer. We explore what support and self-care actually look like for you in this season, not as a detour from the writing, but as an essential part of it.
Closing and Continuing We close with intention. This final week is about honoring what you’ve done and what remains, and leaving you with what you need to keep going well beyond July 13.
Four dedicated writing sessions designed to help you build momentum and write alongside others (all times EST)
Drop in to any or all. No sharing of work required. We’ll share brief writing goals at the start, then write together in silence.
- Tuesday, June 23 — 10:00–11:30am
- Wednesday, July 1 — 2:00–3:30pm
- Tuesday, July 7 — 10:00–11:30am
- Thursday, July 9 — 2:00–3:30pm
New this Summer: Individual Writing Consultation
As part of the program, you’ll also receive one 45-minute individual consultation with me during or shortly after our three weeks together.
This session is designed to support you and your writing project wherever you are in the process. We can discuss a draft you’re working on, explore challenges that are getting in the way of your writing, clarify next steps, or talk through questions about sustaining your writing practice.
Rather than generic advice, you’ll receive personalized support tailored to your goals, your project, and your season of writing.
